I thought I would bump this one up instead of starting a new thread.
I knew this day would come, but it doesnt make it any easier. I had to put our cat down today. Snuggles was a great pet and had been with us for a hella long time. We will miss him, but we had alot of great years with him.
He started acting a little goofy a couple of days ago, like he didnt know where he was at. Then this morning his back was all hunched up and he kept stumbling, he quickly went down hill and from there within a little while he coudnt get up at all. It seemed as if his back half was paralyzed. When he did get drag himself up on his front legs he would just fall over. Then he started shaking and he was crying.
At his age (22 years) I didnt want to put him through trying to find out what was wrong or any kind of treatment although I am not even sure if they could have done anything for him, and I didnt want him to suffer. I thought the right thing was to just have the vet do what needed to be done, to end his suffering quickly.
He had been so healthy and active. And I couldnt bear to make him suffer or be in pain trying to treat an illness at his age.
