Curly Extensions - Lenora Crichlow

Postby lilibunny on Mon Jul 26, 2010 1:14 am

Lately I've been really wanting curly hair - my own hair is sort of wavy but really fine, fluffy and yet thin. What I want is something like what Lenora Crichlow (actress on BBC show, Being Human) has:

I like how she can do super tight corkscrews or style it a little looser - and I bet if flat-ironed it would be at least 14"

My two questions are whether or not my fine, wavy hair could be decently blended with a curl like that (with products or curling irons, etc.), and what you girls would recommend as a good match for that texture/curl as far as extension hair goes. So far I've been looking at the Peruvian Curl ESG.

I would so looooove to have cute curly hair like hers . . . too bad I can't also get her body and face ^_^!

Hey Lili;

yeah, that style is super cute! A lot of the ladies on BHM would kill for that hair too. :LOL: I would go with Wagman's Primus or a chinese vendor like KevinCN (who can do any curl you like via picture). Wagman's -- I think --- has natural curl and Euro curl -- something like the pic, but a lot of the finished style is on you. It would require the proper cut and manipulation daily to keep the curls corkscrew. You could definitely blend your natural hair, either leaving it a bit straighter at the top or even doing bantu knots of small curlformers to make your hair curl into the weave curl. It will be extra work anyway you look at it! It's beautiful though!

Thanks for the recommendations! Right now I'm starting to think I might have to go for a looser curl which would be a little less work for me. The other issue is that I have bangs which I usually straighten. Is it possible to blend those in by putting wefts closer to the part line, or could I just wear them out straight without it looking silly?

OOoo, I think it really depends on how long your bangs are Lili. If they are short enough that they keep separating from the weave hair, then you may have a problem blending. You can definitely put wefts in to your bangs to lengthen them -- that is what I do for every install. I actually place my bang wefts, so that the hair hangs over my face (vertical to the part line). I put two pieces in (back to back), so they stay in better and my bangs appear a bit thicker. I find doing the bangs this way really eases blending as my bangs as they are, are thinner than I would like and require me to use a flat iron on them daily. It's even better if you use skin wefts to do this, because if and when your natural hair parts, the wefts are still fairly undetectable.
